D. Craig Godfrey, Firm Managing Partner of Godfrey Wise Berg, CPAs and Advisors, LLC (GWB), has over 20 years of experience in taxation. Mr. Godfrey received his Bachelor of Science degree, with high honors, in Accounting from Northern Michigan University and received his CPA license in 1986.

Mr. Godfrey co-founded Godfrey Financial Partners after spending six years as a Tax Partner with a large, mid-west based CPA Firm. As of July 1, 2008, the successful firms of Godfrey Financial Partners, LLC and Wise and Associates, CPAs, PLC merged creating the current firm: Godfrey Wise Berg, CPAs and Advisors, LLC.

Mr. Godfrey has a diverse client base and provides a wide range of services specializing in the areas of individual and business taxation, including professional corporations, limited liability companies, partnerships, family limited liability companies, not-for-profit organizations, business entity structuring, and elder care services. Craig is frequently a keynote speaker on a variety of business and taxation topics. His newest endeavor is the “CPA Expert” on Citadel’s Michigan Talk Network.

Mr. Godfrey is also active in the Lansing community and has served on the boards of a variety of charitable organizations. He currently functions as the Treasurer for Lansing’s Woldumar Nature Center and holds the position of Treasurer with Child and Family Services – Capital Area. Craig served as Treasurer of the Rotary Club of Lansing and the Rotary Club of Lansing Foundation from July 1, 2000 to June 30, 2006.  Craig is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants, the Michigan Society of Association Executives, and the Greater Lansing Estate Planning Counsel (GLEPC).

The certified public accounting practice of GODFREY WISE BERG, CPAs & ADVISORS, LLC, was established on July 1, 2005 by D. Craig, Godfrey, CPA, Tax Partner and Connie L. Berg, Certified Human Resource Specialist, Office Manager. The firm presently has eight employees — its’ three partners and five professional staff.
